Update and thoughts: Psykers

Last weeks I've played a lot of games.
We had a several 1850 pts 'basement games ' as i started to call them, the basement games is pretty much me and my cousin playing and testing out lists and units we want to play that we are 100 % sure to buy or to not, it depends how they preform on the table, so sometimes more than wysiwyg proxy, maybe even models, most models on my cousins side.
I continued to play that 3 raider list with death company list, I really like the play style of it.
I used my WraithWall and Imprial gu... I mean Astra Militarum.

Astra Militarum game was really exiting, a lot of tanks blew up and demolisher canonns tha missed each other all that kind of craziness!



I have starting to see a trend here with psykers and psychic phase that either you're in or you're out, I mean of course that you either go with double libbys both jacked up with ML2, double farseers rocking all the powers you like backed up by Warlocks or like my cousin used the last games for counter, 2 sorcerers and a allied black legion sorcerer with ML3 all they way, pricy! but effective against like the Wraithwall that needs it psychic powers to go off to the army will crumble down very fast with the right weapons.
OR
You play as I did with my Astra Militarum list: No psyker at all, you say Fillee uhm use Primaris psyker you can take 3 in a slot and bla bla .... NO, first of all that's not the Guard way! even its effective I wouldn't be that asshole  in casual games, that's not even funny and second, if i would play Primaris psykers I would see more powers shut down than up due to 3 sorcerers list for example.

As I was writing this I checked up BoLS article from September 22 2013 to see the ranking of the most powerful psykers in the game right now.

Thoughts on Predator Destructor

So today  we had a discussion  on the Facebook  page about  the Predator battle  tank.

I'm all about  even out the odds, have much  more dice  than my opponent  can handle, when it's about shot and especially armour saves.

Awesome  in games of 1500  or less when you try to ram in as much fire  power  as possible.
When playing  space marines  you need that volume  of dice on your side  and for 100  PTS it's damn cheap. Some of you thinking  but why not the thunderfire  then? It's a tough decision.
I love tanks and to load a hail  of fire at even Space marines, even they will fall. That's why you bring them in pairs.

Don't forget to mention it has AV 13!
That  1 extra  point  of Armour  will make every  player think  twice. "Well I might glance or not" And often  I even got them ignored.
6 S5 , 2 S7  and a mounted stormbolter, that's a nice little Gunboat.
Try always  have them at the flanks  to get the most out from  them. And try to always be in range with the Heavy Bolters  so the shots don't get wasted.

On the Bench

I just wanted to share my Saturday evening with you guys.
My cousin  came  over so we had a little  workshoptime.
He was  doing  transfers on his dudes and I was getting the last layers on a few marines.
I did also glued  together  some of my terminators  for Blood Templars.  Some hammers  and a little conversion that I'll put out when he is done.
Anyway  I just wanted to do a small update.

Basement Game no. 2

Wow, My cousin  had soo bad luck.
The only  thing that got killed  was a pity landraider !

He booned  up  the sorccers but even with  redundancy  it went bad, a pretty fast and relax game. Nothing  cool happened on my side. The death company had the glorious assault  anyway. They get tired  to ride Landraiders  all the time!  Haha

So now we had our first game in 2015 and more  it will be!

Chaos vs Blood Angels Basement Game

So we had a 1500  pts  fight today  me and my cousin. 

First off. Amazing  game, great stuff  happens.

He was testing a new  list.
A lot  of thousand sons in rhinos
3 sorcerers with  ML  3 and a few more  stuff. 
Full of upgrades, very cool interesting  list.
A lot of boons  :)

So he didn't think I was about  to bring  3 land raiders  but I did.
We had a real  basement  game.

It was going fine first, I blasted  though  his lines  and throw  death company  dudes  over him.

Until  his character  was booning  and got chill and +2 armour  save.  lowered  my Intiative  and put some of them down.
It ended with the sorcerer periled  and got killed and the objective  was given  to me.
Interesting  game.

Thank  you my man for being  so mean  to you on the table,  next  time I'll bring Eldar  instead  ^^

Bike command done!

Finally I got out my thumb from the ass and started to do stuff.

Went to the bitsbox to grab my Chapter Master who was laying around so I finish him up. 

Some pics of the conversion I was doing to make him more "Salamander-looking " plus a picture of all my bikes, now I got some stuff to do!

Chestplate from Blood Angels kit

When I started my Salamanders I went out and bought a box of Lizardmen, the bits has been useful a lot!

Pined the shield on the side for a cooler look.

Now I'm ready to paint and soon play them too!

And of course my Master of the Forge! :)

I got little "Eldar dryness" so I wanted to share my model I won a painting contest with 2012 :)

Aspect Army/ Mechenized

So I have tried out the striking scorpions now a few games in my aspects army.
I think two squads need to fill this roll in wave serpents, scout up and jam down that serpents shot in the thoughts! then turn 2 jump out and hug a wall or cover  then pounce them with both squads, the exarch is a BEAST! Killed half a squad by himself. that ap2 claw is too good not to take.



Farseer support are mandatory for this setup and dire avenger minimal squad size in serpents is the way to go.

In this list I also took hawks which I liked, haven't used them as much as Spiders for they are too good not to take but I'm trying to vary my army choices nowadays.

Conversion Contest 2013 Throwback Tzeentch Soul Grinder

Last year I entered a Conversion contest at the club, the project was supposed to be done at the end of the summer. I took the biggest model available in the shop and began.

I was totally sold at that moment with grey knights and the Inquisition, I bought all the books and all kinds of stuff, so it fell normal to do two kinds of Inquisitors fighting a big beast say like a Daemon!
This tzeentchian Daemon worked really good, a great kit to use. I had a blast building and painting this dude!

What I can remember I'd just showed you guys a picture of the finish product. So not I'm about to share some of my work in progress pics!

The Armour colour is made as the same how Sons of Horus are made.
Spray Black
Paint the whole model a dark grey (dont't remember the name)
Drybrush with Dawnstone
Highlight with White Scar on the places where light hits
Wash it with Biel-Tan
Go back to White Scar the do touch-ups!

The warp sword is renamed to 'the sun sword'!

The finished product ready to 'Philem bombardment' the crap of the battlefield!
